MOPS is open to ANY mother of children, birth through kindergarten.
Meetings are generally held on the second Friday of the month (September through May) from 9:15 AM to 11:45 AM. See our calendar tab for variations in dates. All meetings are held at New Providence Baptist Church of Smarr in Forsyth, Georgia in their worship center.
Monthly meetings include food, coffee (oh yes!), fellowship, various speakers or videos, discussion group time, and an occasional craft. MOMSnext will occasionally break out from the MOPS group for their own speakers for topics more closely related to issues of moms with school age children. What do I do with my children during the monthly meetings?
Our childcare program, called MOPS Kids, is provided for meetings for children age 12 weeks to 5 years. There is also a homeschoolers room available for school-aged children (ages 6 and up). Space in MOPS Kids is by reservation only. Space is limited. To reserve a spot in MOPS Kids, e-mail your reservation to the MOPS Kids Reservations Coordinator. State your name, each child’s name and age, and your phone number. If you receive a confirmation e-mail, then you have a reservation for that meeting. Please make MOPS Kids reservations as soon as possible since space is limited and is often full the week of the meeting. All reservations must be made by 12 NOON the Friday before our meeting. If you have additional questions about MOPS Kids reservations, you may contact the MOPS Kids Reservations Coordinator.
If you have made a reservation for your child and you know that you will not be able to attend, please e-mail the MOPS Kids Reservations Coordinator or call her as soon as possible. This way, others may be able to attend in your place. If you need to cancel the morning of the event, please call the MOPS Kids Reservation Coordinator on her cell phone. Refer to MOPS Kids for guidelines and policies.
