Helpful Hints to Heed in preparing your consignment items.

In order to expedite check-in and help you consign as many items as possible (within the limits, of course!), here are some tips to follow during the tagging process. Please keep in mind that if you do not comply with the procedures in the brochure and/or mentioned here, some of your items may not be accepted into the sale.

  1. Check all clothes in bright light for stains, wear/tears, and missing buttons. We will not accept any clothes with these problems.
  2. We recommend ironing your clothes! Although it takes more time, your clothes will sell faster and for a higher price when they are ironed.
  3. Please button, snap, or zip ALL clothes. Due to such high volume (especially in infant clothes), we may turn away items if they are not ready for the sales floor.
  4. Try to group small items together. For example, you can package bibs together and price as a single unit. The same could be done for pajamas, leggings, tights or hair bows, to name a few. These groupings need to be sealed in a zip lock bag and priced accordingly.
  5. Clean, clean, clean all toys, equipment, strollers, high chairs, etc. We will not be as lenient on accepting big items this year due to space restrictions. If an item of yours is dirty, it will return home with you.
  6. Make sure all items with batteries are working. (A good place to find inexpensive batteries is at a Dollar Store.)
  7. Clean those shoes. Even if they are a boutique brand, they will be rejected if they are too worn, or if we see dirt on the sole of the shoe. Only the best will be accepted because shoe bins fill quickly.
  8. Be prepared to assemble your large items like cribs, outdoor toys, and pack-n-plays. We must check these items for damage and parts. Too often, these items are found damaged during the sale and thus the new requirement during check-in.
  9. Toys that have small parts should be bagged. If you do not bag small parts they WILL get lost and your item(s) may not sell. If we recognize this problem at check-in, your toys may be returned to you. Another idea: Look for larger bags that will hold a grouping of toys or toy parts and sell them as one unit.
  10. Tape the tops of your plastic bags. Little fingers are VERY curious.  We recommend that you use masking tape or scotch tape.  Please not packing tape on plasic bags.
  11. Put your consignor number on ALL items in a separate place from your tag. (We recommend using masking tape on the bottom of a toy or on the inside of clothing.) This measure is very important because it will help us return the item to you should the tag disappear. Note that although we discourage it, children WILL play with our items so please help us protect your investments.
  12. Price to Sell! Please not to overprice your items. We realize how much they mean to you, but this is a resale event. Most prices should be around 1/3 of retail price.
